The Adult Programs at Austin Lakes Hospital offer distinctive psychiatric services to adults (age 18 & up) with acute mental health needs. At Austin Lakes Hospital, we understand that psychiatric problems can affect an adult’s career, marriage, and relationships.
Austin Lakes Hospital offers crisis stabilization for adults in a confidential, caring environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive self-awareness, social skills, and personal growth. The Intensive Outpatient Program offers comprehensive treatment for adults who do not require inpatient care.
An Overview of Services
Our mental health diagnostic services and treatment are focused on the special needs of each individual’s situation. Mood disorders, major depression and anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders are treated in a caring, supportive environment by an interdisciplinary team of professionals.Treatment Programs Available
• Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is an inpatient setting for adults requiring the highest level of nursing care/crisis intervention.
• Inpatient Care is for adults who are in need of 24-hour hospitalization. This program focuses on crisis intervention, assessment and medication stabilization.
• Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for patients needing medication management as well as counseling in order to maximize coping efforts. This program is also a transitional treatment after inpatient hospitalization. The programming is available during the day or evening.
Treatment Team
Physician-led multidisciplinary teams work in an integrated manner to deliver treatment services that stabilize the patient’s condition for return to home and community. The treatment team works closely with outpatient providers and/or referral sources to establish continuing care plans ensuring stabilization and thorough follow-care post discharge.
